Sleepless nights

Ok, anyone with young kids can relate to this. When is the last time you have gotten a full nights sleep, no interruption, no crying babies, just pure, sweet sleep? For me, I can't even remember what that's like. Hallie sleeps all night long, most nights. It's the going to sleep part that she struggles with. We have just recently gotten her to fall asleep without us having to stay in the room with her. But last night was a different story. She got in the bed a little after 8:00. Oh and Jackson was asleep too, at this point anyway. So I thought "Yes! I can sit down and watch Grey's, CSI, and ER." Then Hallie decided that she has boogers and wants me to get them out because her Daddy claims that he doesn't know how. So she sneaks downstairs and we blow and problem solved. Then a little while later, she decided that she's afraid of the dark. So she wants her door open and the hall light on. So I settle back into my McDreamy time. Then Jackson wakes up. So I make him his bottle, feed him, get him back to sleep and head back downstairs. Then I woke up again, cause he had to burp (mind you Hallie is still awake and watching our every move in the hall). Finally they are both out and I can finish watching. Thank goodness for modern technology! I don't know what I would do without DVR. What did I do before it?

When we finally went to bed and were maybe asleep for about an hour, Jackson wakes up again. Chris got him back to sleep. Then he woke up at 2 and didn't go back to sleep till sometime after 3. Then sometime after that, Hallie wakes up crying because her door is closed. Chris goes in with her and falls asleep with her. Shocker. So this morning when the alarm went off for him, I got up and woke him up. Oh I forgot Jackson work up at 7, but I didn't go in there and he drifted back to sleep. Chris gets up and starts getting ready, and in his quiet way of getting out of Hallie's bed, wakes her up and she comes to get in the bed with me.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE having kids! But man I wish they would sleep and sleep at the same time. It's rough!
